Fruit trees and bushes
Every garden should have at least one fruit tree or bush. Many can be planted along the edge of an allotment, incorporated into the garden border, or trained against a wall or fence. As well as the producing fruit, some can provide screening, others shade, and many are highly effective in encouraging wildlife. If you are planning to plant fruit trees or bushes do not delay. Planting should be completed in the next couple of weeks to ensure that none of this years growing season is lost.

We recommend: dessert gooseberries for a delicious fruit rarely in the shops; raspberry canes for screening; grapevines for shade; cherry trees for wildlife.
